A new study conducted by researchers at the University of Extremadura in Spain explores the associations between the frequency of leisure-time physical activity (PAF) and subjective cognitive limitations (SCLs) in middle-aged Spanish adults. The study, which included 15,866 participants, found that physically inactive individuals had a higher prevalence of SCLs compared to those who were very active. Additionally, physical inactivity, low educational level, low social class, and being female were identified as the main risk factors for SCLs. The researchers suggest that physical activity programs should be included as preventive measures to delay cognitive limitations and reduce the risk of other pathologies in individuals who already have them.
