Abstrakt: A new study conducted by researchers at the University of La Frontera in Chile explores the effects of Nordic walking on arm swing asymmetry in people with Parkinson's disease (PD). The study aims to compare Nordic walking with free walking and investigate its impact on arm swing asymmetry, arm swing amplitude, gait parameters, functional mobility, and quality of life in individuals with PD. The researchers hypothesize that Nordic walking will reduce asymmetry and increase arm swing amplitude to a greater extent than free walking. The study is registered on ClinicalTrials.gov and may provide new evidence on the effects of Nordic walking on gait in people with PD. [Extracted from the article]
