Abstrakt: Researchers at Leiden University Medical Center have developed a framework for assessing the differentiation stages and drug responses of acute myeloid leukemia (AML). The framework uses transcriptomic data to accurately predict the maturational arrest of AML blast cells and their response to drugs. The researchers specifically focused on the BCL-2 inhibitor Venetoclax and found that resistance to this drug was associated with a CD14+ monocyte phenotype. The study suggests that this framework could be used to test sensitivity to new agents across different subtypes of AML. [Extracted from the article]
