Researchers from Oslo University Hospital have conducted a multicentre, case-control biopsy study to investigate the relationship between bacterial growth and Modic changes (MCs) in patients with low back pain (LBP). The study aims to minimize contamination risk, include a control group, and optimize statistical power. Tissue samples will be taken from patients with and without MCs, and microbiological methods and histology will be used to analyze the samples.
