Abstrakt: The article discusses the challenges of managing large protected areas in northern Saudi Arabia for wildlife conservation and nature-based tourism. Five organizations, including the Imam Turki Bin Abdullah Royal Nature Reserve Development Authority and the Royal Commission for AlUla, manage these protected areas. They have formed a network to exchange ideas and collaborate on initiatives such as rewilding, habitat restoration, and transboundary conservation planning. The article also highlights discussions on conservation management approaches, global certification instruments for protected areas, and the establishment of working groups on various topics. The network is open to additional nature reserves joining to share best practices in managing arid landscapes. [Extracted from the article]
