Abstrakt: This article examines the topic of abstract concepts and words and how they are learned and used. It explains that abstract concepts are ideas that do not refer to tangible objects and are a significant part of adult speech. Children typically learn abstract concepts later than concrete ones and often need assistance from others to understand their meaning. The article emphasizes the role of language and social interaction in learning and comprehending abstract concepts. It also highlights the importance of discussions and debates in shaping our understanding of these concepts. The article discusses the meaning and usage of abstract concepts and words, noting that their meanings can change over time and that defining them often involves engaging in discussions and debates with others. Scientific evidence is presented to support the notion that people feel uncertain about abstract concepts, express more doubt when discussing them, and rely on others for help in understanding them. The article concludes by suggesting that using abstract concepts can strengthen social connections with others. It also raises questions about the various types of abstract concepts, their cultural variations, and how they are acquired. The authors acknowledge their colleagues and funding sources for their research. [Extracted from the article]
