Abstrakt: This article discusses the electrocatalytic synthesis of 1,2-dioxolanes from tetrasubstituted donor-acceptor cyclopropanes. The use of electrochemical activation allows for an alternative cleavage mode of C(sp3)-C(sp3) bonds, resulting in the formation of 1,2-dioxolanes. The study explores the optimization and reaction scope of this system, demonstrating the synthesis of 3,3,5,5-tetrasubstituted dioxolanes from various cyclopropanes. The proposed mechanism for this reaction is supported by previous studies on the electrochemical activation of donor-acceptor cyclopropanes. [Extracted from the article]
