Researchers at Universidade Estadual do Piaui in Brazil have published a report on basal cell carcinoma (BCC) of the vulva, a rare condition that accounts for less than 0.4% of BCC cases and 2% to 4% of vulvar neoplasms. The study discusses the diagnosis and treatment of a 63-year-old woman with BCC of the vulva, who underwent successful surgical resection with no complications. The patient has shown no evidence of local or regional recurrence 14 months after surgery. This case highlights the importance of early detection and appropriate treatment for BCC of the vulva.
