Abstrakt: A recent study conducted at the University of Health Sciences Turkiye examined the relationship between thyroid capsule invasion (TCI) and macroscopic histopathological findings in papillary thyroid cancer (PTC). The study included 236 adult patients who underwent PTC surgery, and the patients were classified as TCI (+) or TCI (-) based on postoperative pathological examination. The study found that TCI (+) patients had a higher prevalence of positive or suspicious fine needle aspiration biopsy findings preoperatively and longer surgery duration compared to TCI (-) patients. However, other macroscopic pathological findings were not significantly different between the two groups. [Extracted from the article]
