Abstrakt: A recent study conducted by researchers at Mutah University in Jordan evaluated the antioxidant potential, cytotoxicity, and anticancer activity of methanolic extracts from three wild medicinal plants: Ruta graveolens, Peganum harmala, and Citrullus colocynthis. The study found that R. graveolens extract had the highest concentrations of total phenols and flavonoids, as well as the most robust antioxidant capacity. It also exhibited significant anticancer activity with low cytotoxicity against fibroblast cells. The researchers concluded that R. graveolens extract shows promise as a potential source of safe and effective antioxidant and anticancer compounds. [Extracted from the article]
