Abstrakt: | Researchers from the University of the Sunshine Coast in Maroochydore, Australia have conducted a study on the efficacy of probiotic strains in inhibiting the interaction of adherent-invasive Escherichia coli (AIEC) with gut epithelial cells. The study found that pre-inoculation of the probiotic strains prior to the introduction of AIEC was more effective in inhibiting AIEC interaction compared to co-inoculation. While individual probiotic strains reduced AIEC colonization and invasion, their combination was more effective in reducing AIEC translocation. The study suggests that probiotics may be more effective when used prophylactically against pathogens and that the combination of strains may enhance their efficacy. [Extracted from the article] |
