A recent report published by the Department of Neurosurgery highlights the case of a 3-year-old girl who developed both an atypical teratoid-rhabdoid tumor (AT/RT) and acute lymphoblastic leukemia. AT/RT is a rare and aggressive tumor of the central nervous system, typically affecting young children. The prognosis for AT/RT is poor, with a high risk of secondary tumor development and limited treatment options. The mainstay of treatment for this case involved a combination of chemotherapy and radiation therapy. Further information on this research can be found in the journal article "Long-Term Survival of a Child with Atypical Teratoid-Rhabdoid Tumor and Acute Lymphoblastic Leukemia: A Case Report."
