Ninez A. Ponce, a professor at the University of California, Los Angeles, has been awarded the 2024 Elizabeth Fries Health Education Award by the CDC Foundation for her work on data equity and racial health disparities. Her research focuses on understanding and addressing health disparities among Asian, Native Hawaiian, and Pacific Islander communities. Dr. Ponce is a faculty member at the Fielding School of Public Health and serves as the director of the Center for Health Policy Research.
