This article, published in the journal Endoscopy, discusses a case study of a 69-year-old woman who underwent sleeve gastrectomy and later developed symptoms of gastric outlet obstruction. Despite multiple sessions of endoscopic dilatation, the patient did not experience clinical improvement. As a result, the authors proposed and performed an endoscopic ultrasound-guided gastroenterostomy (EUS-GE) using a simplified technique. The procedure was successful, with the patient reporting clinical improvement and confirmation through radiology and endoscopy at one and three months. The authors highlight the technical and clinical success of EUS-GE in treating gastric twist and its potential to avoid surgical conversion to Roux-en-Y gastric bypass. [Extracted from the article] |
