Scientific communication skills haven't been honed in learning. This study aims to determine the effect of the Prediction, Observation, Explanation, Elaboration, Write, and Evaluation (POE2WE) learning model on scientific communication skills on the concept of sound waves. This study is quasi-experimental with nonequivalent control group design. The research was conducted in one of the state senior high schools of Lampung province with a sample of 64 students using purposive sampling technique. In this study, the experimental group was treated with the POE2WE learning model, while the control group was treated with conventional learning with a scientific approach. This study used a test instrument which consisted of 9 essay questions and also a non-test instrument for scientific communication skills during the learning process. The results showed that the POE2WE learning model had an effect on students' scientific communication skills. based on the results of N-Gain, scientific writing skills are in the medium category. The non-test results show students' scientific communication skills on the indicators of Listening and Observing and knowledge presentation in the skilled category. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR] |
