New research from Lund University in Sweden explores the role of ribonucleases in tuberculosis (TB) among people with HIV. The study found that individuals with TB and HIV had significantly higher ribonuclease activity in their plasma compared to those with HIV alone. This elevated activity was associated with HIV severity and systemic inflammation. The findings suggest a potential link between ribonucleases and the development and progression of TB in individuals with HIV. [Extracted from the article] |
