Abstrakt: A recent study found that pregnant women with type 1 diabetes who spent more time in the optimal glycemic range had a lower risk of developing preeclampsia and delivering a larger-than-gestational-age infant. The study used continuous glucose monitoring (CGM) to track glycemic levels and found that each 5-unit increase in time spent in the optimal range was associated with a nearly 50% reduction in these risks. However, the study also found that fewer than 30% of participants were able to achieve the recommended benchmark of 70% or greater time in range. These findings provide important information for healthcare practitioners to counsel pregnant women with type 1 diabetes and emphasize the potential benefits of even small improvements in glycemic control.
