A recent study conducted at King Abdulaziz University Hospital in Saudi Arabia examined the rate and causes of unplanned hospital returns within 60 days following head and neck surgery. The study found that 11.55% of patients returned to the hospital within 60 days, with 1.84% being readmitted. The most common reasons for readmission were infections and neurological symptoms. The study suggests that addressing these common reasons may help decrease postoperative hospital visits. [Extracted from the article] |
