Abstrakt: This article provides an overview of the Beijing 2022 Winter Olympic Games, covering various aspects of the event. It discusses the bidding process and the selection of Beijing as the host city. The Games were significantly impacted by the COVID-19 pandemic, resulting in strict safety protocols. Diplomatic controversies surrounding the Games are also mentioned, including calls for a boycott due to human rights concerns. The article touches on citizenship issues faced by athletes and controversies in figure skating related to anti-doping violations. It also discusses the decision not to impose a provisional suspension on figure skater Kamila Valieva and the controversy surrounding the medal ceremony for the figure skating team event.
