A recent study conducted by researchers at the Institute of Genetics and Physiology in Almaty, Kazakhstan, explores the morphofunctional alteration of mesenteric lymph nodes in cases of inflammation in the abdominal cavity. The study found that inflammation in the abdominal organs leads to a decrease in the immune function of the lymph nodes. Histological and morphometric analyses revealed changes in the cortical and medullary substances of the lymph nodes, indicating immunosuppressive effects. The study also observed an increase in the number of macrophages and a decrease in the number of mature plasmocytes in the lymph nodes. [Extracted from the article] |
