The text tells the story of two different fairy tales. The first tale, "Child Margarita," is about a merchant's daughter who is mistreated by her stepmother. She is abandoned in the countryside but finds refuge in a palace where she helps a wounded woman. The stepmother discovers that Margarita is alive and tries to harm her using an enchanted braid and a poisoned pin, but Margarita is saved by a prince and they get married. In the second tale, "Maroula and the Mother of Eros," a princess is targeted by Eros' mother because of her beauty. The mother disguises herself as an old woman and offers the princess a poisoned golden apple, but the princess is saved by her brothers. Both tales have happy endings with the protagonists finding love and happiness. [Extracted from the article] |
