Abstrakt: A recent study conducted by the University of Colorado School of Medicine examined the use of different surgical techniques in esophagectomy procedures and their impact on postoperative outcomes. The study found that cardiothoracic surgeons and general surgeons perform the majority of esophagectomies, with differences in the use of minimally invasive surgical approaches. However, after adjusting for risk factors, there were no significant differences in postoperative complications between the two specialties. The research concluded that esophagectomy can be safely performed by surgeons with different specialties and training pathways. [Extracted from the article]
