A recent study conducted by investigators at the National Institutes of Health (NIH) in Bethesda, Maryland, explored the experiences of caregivers of children with rare diseases. Despite the high levels of burden associated with caregiving, many caregivers considered it to be a rewarding experience. The study examined the relationship between caregiver stress and positive aspects of caregiving, as well as the impact of coping strategies on these aspects. The findings suggest that support-based interventions may be beneficial in promoting positive aspects of caregiving. This research was supported by the NIH National Human Genome Research Institute (NHGRI) and has been peer-reviewed. [Extracted from the article] |
