The paper is devoted to a theoretical study of an outflow of a binary mixture from a source through a round orifice into vacuum. The simulations were performed by the DSMC method. The gas-dynamic effects accompanying the outflow of the gas mixtures with a large species mass ratio, including aerodynamic acceleration/deceleration of the species, axial focusing/defocusing of species fluxes, and an increase in temperature and density of the heavy species near the source outlet, are analyzed. Special attention is given to the study of the temperature distribution of the gas mixture and separate species in the expansion region. The results are compared with the available analytical solutions and estimations. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR] |
