Abstrakt: In this study, five types of Aspen (Populus tremuloides Michx) strands with different widths and percentages were mixed to prepare oriented strand board (OSB) panels and their impacts on the internal bonding strength (IB), stiffness (MOE), and bending strength (MOR) of OSB were investigated. The results showed that strands with different widths at different ratios showed a significant effect on the manufacture process and qualities of the obtained OSB. The influence mechanisms of the width combination of strands on the performance of OSB was also revealed. This study could provide references for further improving the quality of OSB products, improving resource utilization, reducing the carbon footprint of wood-based panel production and reducing manufacturing costs.
