A recent systematic review and meta-analysis conducted by researchers at Alborz University of Medical Sciences examined the relationship between brain-derived neurotrophic factor (BDNF) protein levels and endometriosis. The study analyzed 12 studies and found that women with endometriosis had significantly higher levels of BDNF compared to healthy controls. The researchers concluded that further studies are needed to understand the role of BDNF in endometriosis and its potential as a diagnostic marker.
