Trends in the development of the ICT sector in Bulgaria.

Abstrakt: The development of digital technologies and their application in various spheres of socio-economic life transform the economy into a "digital economy". The digital economy is growing dynamically on a global scale and is an important driver of innovation, competitiveness and growth, creating great potential for the development of entrepreneurship and small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs). The purpose of the report is to analyze the state of the ICT sector in Bulgaria and to establish its role in achieving competitiveness in the country's industrial enterprises. Object of the study are the Bulgarian enterprises from the ICT sector. The subject of research are the trends in their development through the prism of digital transformation. The methodological basis of the research are process, system and evolutionary approach, general scientific abstraction, induction and deduction, analysis and synthesis, content analysis, statistical data analysis, socio-economic modeling, empirical research methods, qualitative and quantitative methods for data collection and processing. The results show that by 2024 ICT sector to generate revenues of 7.8 billion BGN, to represent about 6% of the country's GDP, to generate 58,000 jobs, creating more than 6,000 new jobs annually.
