Abstrakt: A new report discusses research on rectocele, a condition characterized by a bulging of the rectum into the vagina. The study aimed to explore the diagnostic value of high-resolution anorectal manometry (HRAM) parameters in women with obstructed defecation syndrome associated with moderate rectocele (MRW) compared to healthy female individuals (HFI). The study found that age and rectoanal inhibitory reflex were independent factors affecting the disease in the MRW group. The HRAM parameters showed a higher diagnostic value for age, urge to defecate, and rectoanal pressure differential in the MRW group compared to the HFI group. However, HRAM cannot be considered the gold standard method for diagnosing MRW. [Extracted from the article]
