The structural states of single-phase Kh30N60M9 and Kh23N65M13 alloys are studied upon heating at a rate of 1.0°C/min. The structural states of the alloys are formed by quenching in water. The quenching temperatures of the alloys were 1107 and 1135°C, respectively. The results of thermal analysis of the alloys in an inert gas (argon) environment without additional purification from oxygen, the volume fraction of which amounted to 0.003 wt %, are presented. The rate of increase of the sample weight (weight increment) is proposed as a characteristic of the state of the structure. Based on the experimental results of the sample weight increment, a unique method is proposed for calculating this kinetic indicator in the form of the rate of solid-phase transformation (hereafter, transformation coefficient k). The true values of weight increment related to the true temperatures in the temperature range 500–650°C are considered, and the scales of variables and values are shown in the range 0...1. The thermophysical characteristics of the Kh30N60M9 alloy in the temperature range under study are found to be improved in comparison with those of the Kh23N65M13 alloy. The calculated transformation coefficients of the alloys are confirmed by experimental data on determining the enthalpy in the temperature range, for which the areas under the DTA curves of the Kh30N60M9 and Kh23N65M13 alloys are calculated upon heating at a rate of 1.0°C/min. The decomposition of the structure of the solid solution in the Kh23N65M13 alloy is found to be more pronounced in the temperature range 500–650°C. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR] |
