Abstrakt: A study conducted by researchers at Guangzhou Medical University found that rapid on-site evaluation (ROSE) smear samples can be used as supplemental material for molecular testing of non-small cell lung cancer (NSCLC). The study analyzed 308 patients diagnosed with NSCLC who underwent diagnostic procedures with ROSE. The researchers found that ROSE smear samples were enriched in tumor cells and could enhance the detection rate of informative mutations in advanced NSCLC patients. They recommend using ROSE smear samples as a supplemental source for molecular testing when formalin-fixed paraffin-embedding tissue sections are inadequate. [Extracted from the article]
