Researchers at Wuhan University School of Basic Medical Sciences have published a study on the potential benefits of ginsenoside Rc, a compound derived from Panax ginseng, for metabolic syndrome (MetS). The study explores the pharmacological effects of ginsenoside Rc on various phenotypes associated with MetS, such as obesity, diabetes, atherosclerosis, non-alcoholic fatty liver disease, and osteoarthritis. While clinical investigations are limited, the study suggests that ginsenoside Rc may be a safe and effective treatment option for MetS.
