Abstrakt: | A recent study conducted at Aristide Le Dantec Hospital in Senegal examined the prevalence of genital infections in women using contraception. The study found that hormonal contraception can increase the risk of vaginal infections. The most common infections detected were Gardnerella vaginalis and Candida albicans. The use of intrauterine devices (IUDs) as a form of contraception was significantly associated with vaginal infections. This research highlights the importance of monitoring and addressing the risk of infections in women using contraception. [Extracted from the article] |
