A systematic review and meta-analysis conducted by researchers from Shahid Beheshti University of Medical Sciences in Tehran, Iran, aimed to examine the association between metformin use and non-Hodgkin lymphoma. The study analyzed data from six observational studies with a total sample size of 2,330,787 individuals. The results showed no statistically significant correlation between metformin use and the risk of developing non-Hodgkin lymphoma, chronic lymphocytic leukemia/small lymphocytic leukemia, or diffuse large B-cell lymphoma. The study was conducted following the PRISMA guidelines and its protocol was registered on the PROSPERO and Research Registry websites. [Extracted from the article] |
