The first Chair of Biophysics in the world science, created at the Faculty of Physics of Lomonosov Moscow State University, has crossed the 63-year milestone of its history. Its creators passed away: Professor L.A. Blumenfeld in 2002 and Professor S.E. Shnol in 2021. The latest issues of the journal "Biophysics" have published a large series of papers prepared by friends, colleagues, students and followers of these outstanding scientists. This paper completes this compilation. It gives a brief historical overview of the formation of world and Russian biophysics as a scientific discipline, tells about the history of the Chair of Biophysics, its main achievements and the scientific schools originated within its walls.
