Abstrakt: A study conducted by researchers at Banasthali Vidyapith in Rajasthan, India, explored the hepatoprotective effect of Decalepis hamiltonii (D. hamiltonii) root fractions against liver damage. The study used male Wistar rats and assessed biochemical parameters, mitochondrial modulation, gene expression analysis, and RT-PCR to estimate the protective action of D. hamiltonii root extracts. The results showed that D. hamiltonii root provided substantial restoration of antioxidant levels and moderated oxidative stress, indicating its potential in mitigating CCl4-induced hepatotoxicity. The study suggests that D. hamiltonii may have a protective effect on the liver through mitochondrial modulation. [Extracted from the article]
