Due to the 4th Industrial Revolution, shipping logistics is undergoing a change to smart logistics. The three major axes for implementing smart logistics are smart ports, smart ships, and smart containers. Large global shipping companies are preparing for digital transformation for smart logistics, and in particular, are introducing monitoring services during transportation by applying IoT technology to containers, the basic unit of maritime logistics. However, the equipment currently in operation is a removable type equipment that requires management such as recovery, and cannot be operated for a long time due to limited size and installation space. In this paper, we introduce a smart container system with IoT equipment built into the container to overcome these shortcomings. In addition, through experiments in a real maritime logistics environment that is vulnerable to IoT equipment such as salt, shock, and vibration, we verified whether it was possible to monitor the status information of containers during transportation.
