This paper presents an interface electronic circuit intended for differential pressure flowmeters. The circuit represents a quasi-digital converter whose output frequency is directly proportional to the measured quantity. It consists of a standard relaxation oscillator and a square-rooting circuit. The proposed design is experimentally verified using discrete off-the-shelf components and a single supply voltage of 3 V. The output signal frequency ranges from 1.68 kHz to 22.5 kHz for the input voltage range from 10 mV to 1.7 V. The measured relative error of the circuit is less than 2 % for the same input voltage range. The relative variation of the output signal frequency with the temperature is constant, so the temperature compensation is easily achievable which is shown by simulations. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR] |
