A recent study conducted by researchers at the Federal University Minas Gerais (UFMG) in Brazil examined the performance of Brazilian Oral Health Teams (OHTs) in providing quality healthcare. The study evaluated 22,993 OHTs using a structured questionnaire that assessed various dental procedures, including oral cancer prevention and diagnosis. The findings revealed that the performance of OHTs was influenced by contextual factors, such as the Human Development Index and the Gini Index. The study suggests that while the evaluated items showed potential in discriminating the performance of OHTs, further improvements are needed to differentiate teams with better performance.
