Abstrakt: Wind energy is a renewable energy source that is obtained by converting wind mechanical energy into electrical energy or pumping energy. Polaris P19-100 wind turbine type was selected for the study and development of wind exergy maps for Iraq. The analysis was done using Engineering Equation Solver (EES) software and Golden Grapher software. The wind data such as velocity, temperature, pressure, wet bulb temperature, and relative humidity can be obtained from Meteonorm software, only moisture content (moisture ratio) (ω) was estimated by EES software. The findings reveal that the exergy destruction in the south of Iraq is about (1442 W), which is higher than that in the north of Iraq (60 W). Also, exergy destruction was higher in the winter season than summer season. So that, the exergy efficiency in the north is (17%) greater than in the south of Iraq (3%). The wind turbine's exergy is influenced by climatic factors that must not be overlooked since they might lead to design mistakes. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]
