Abstrakt: Comments on the article by Lantz Janz et al. which explores patient satisfaction with decisions about surgical treatments for early stage breast cancer among a population-based sample of women. Difficulty of deciding whether to undergo breast conserving therapy (BCT) or mastectomy for women diagnosed with early breast cancer; Possibility of women not being aware of the evidence favoring BCT; Possible effect of the beliefs and practices of the patient's oncologist or surgeon.
