Abstrakt: In this paper, we present a conceptual design for a powder diffractometer for the DARIA (Dedicated to Academic Research and Industrial Application) compact neutron source based on a linear proton accelerator. The proposed concept expands the possibilities of optimizing the performance of the device by varying both the parameters of the diffractometer and the parameters of the neutron source, such as the moderator temperature, the repetition frequency, and the duration of neutron pulses. The results of calculating the spectrum of the target assembly for various types of moderators are presented. The McStas software package is used to evaluate the efficiency of the neutron-guide system to increase the neutron flux on the sample. The calculation results show the fundamental possibility of implementing the neutron-diffraction method under conditions of limited luminosity of a compact neutron source. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]
