Two cases of splenic arteriovenous fistulae are reported. The cases are unusual in that they were diagnosed before the development of symptomatic portal hypertension, which is the usual complication of these visceral fistulae. The fistulae developed following splenectomy and emphasize the need for careful ligation of the splenic vessels. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR] |
