The Idea of Fairness: A General Ethical Concept or One Particular to Sports Ethics?

Abstrakt: The article focuses on the fairness and ethics in sports. The relationship, which exists between fairness (or morals) and sports is complex and multifaceted. It invites various kinds of approaches. The historical perspective focuses on the origin and development of the concept. When addressing the issue in terms of developmental psychology, the genealogy of the phenomenon, which is to say the emergence of moral socialization in sports, is stressed. One can take an ethical approach, which seeks to provide justification for morals, or fairness, in sports or adopt a metaethical perspective.
