The article is devoted to the analysis of the Russian automotive industry readiness for digital transformation based on the analysis of digitalization processes of product lifecycle management. The global trends of automotive industry business processes digitalization are considered, the characteristics of the existing digital solution in the global digital technology market, and the features of its implementation in the automotive industry are provided. The analysis of the practice of introducing PLM systems in the Russian automobile industry based on AvtoVAZ JSC materials is carried out. The purpose of the study was to identify the possibilities and features of implementation of digital platforms for product lifecycle management in Russian automotive industry. As a result of the study, it was found that the global trends in the digital transformation of business in the automotive industry are introduction of digital platforms for product lifecycle management. The most competitive digital solution is the platform of the French company Dassault Systèmes; the problems of implementing this platform in the Russian automotive business lie in the plane of technical architecture design and communication planning in the project. The scientific novelty of the study is in determining the periodization of the digital transformation of business processes, identifying potential problems within implementation of digital platforms at Russian automotive industry enterprises.
