Preventing alumina clogging of the submerged-entry nozzle is one of the most important factors for achieving stable production and excellent steel quality. Suitably engineered stable microstructure of gas-blowing material enables a steady gas injection without fluctuation until the end of casting. Unique inner liner materials that have higher wettability to molten steel results in an ideal surface condition. Novel port design forms an optimized outlet flow without stagnation. This report describes these various technologies for clogging suppression and successful results in reducing steel defects. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR] |
