The subject of the presented article is the perception of old age by children at early school age. The discussed issues are intended to draw attention to the need for conscious and active shaping of the relationship between children and seniors through the participation of adults playing a significant role. The article indicates the main conditions influencing the formation of a child's image of old age, including the child's developmental stages, cultural patterns, media-promoted image of old age and their impact on the quality of relationships. Attention was also drawn to the importance of early childhood experiences for shaping social attitudes conducive to intergenerational interactions, as well as to starting the process of education for old age. During the conducted theoretical analyses, postulates regarding the strengthening of pre-school education processes were developed and their possible forms of implementation were indicated.
