A double perovskite ceramic oxide, Pb0.5Ca1.5BiNbO6, is developed through a usual solid-state reaction route. X-ray diffraction (XRD), scanning electron microscopy, energy dispersive X-ray spectroscopy (EDS), and LCR study were executed to characterize the structural formation, surface morphology, purity, electrical and transport properties of the sample. A cubic phase with Pn-3 m space group and tensile lattice strain was supported by the XRD, Rietveld refinement, and Williamson–Hall analysis. Utilizing the universal Scherer's equation, the crystallite size was found as 31.66 nm. The EDS spectra confirmed the required elemental purity in the compound. LCR study verified the dielectric, loss tangent, complex impedances, complex modulus, ac, and dc conductivity against a wider range of temperatures and frequencies. The material possesses room temperature (RT) dielectric (ɛr = 507 and tanδ = 0.0604) and ferroelectric property with relatively higher transition temperature (Td > 410 °C for 100 Hz and Td > 465 °C for 1 kHz). The complex impedance and complex modulus spectroscopy satisfy the semiconductor and relaxation property of the sample. The dc conductivity (σdc) activation energy was obtained using the Arrhenius relation, Ea = 1.33 eV. Based on the result, the studied sample can be suggested for its possible usage in advanced electronic equipment like multilayer ceramic capacitors and memory storage devices. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR] |
