Body-area networks (BAN) are used in applications such as smart health monitoring, elderly health care and biotelemetry. In the bio telemetric system the decisive component is the wearable antenna that aid off body communication. In the work undertaken, the circularly polarized rectangular patch antenna is integrated with microwave band pass filter (BPF) circuit realized using fourth order hairpin line resonators. The integrated filtering antenna operating at 2.45GHz ISM band realizes an s11<-21.24 dB and bids superior band selectivity. The designed compact filtenna can be used in devices, placed in close propinquity to the body of human beings with a nominal specific absorption rate (SAR) having fewer electromagnetic impression on human body.
