Abstrakt: The paper explores and develops the conception of rescue history proposed by Ewa Domańska, by translating the idea into the field of literary didactics. As a result, we are given a chance of overcoming negative, destructive and catastrophic messages from school set books. In the face of pandemic, war and climate change experiences, the concept of rescue reading leans towards positivity and rescue humanities which is aimed at equipping students with a language to think and talk about the possibility of a better future. The Polish subject at school is a field of didactic experiment in which a literary text becomes an object and a tool in the process of building affirmative discourse on the world and humans.
