The paper on access control using I-button delves the introduction of iButton for the purpose of security. This design moves away from traditional concept of using smart cards, RF tags, bar codes or magnetic stripes for access control. We have moved a step further to enhance portability, ruggedness, cost and ease of operation. This is possible as the size of iButton is comparatively smaller and works on the principle of single wire communication protocol.
